Does anyone know what the * is when looking at the networking section on the ESXTOP output?

| 817589:cp-test-vm-a | vmnic0* vSwitch1 | |
| 818478:cp-test-vm-c | vmnic1 vSwitch1 | |
| 818488:cp-test-vm-d | vmnic0 vSwitch1 |
And if you do, why does the above have 2 VMs with an * against the vmnics and 2 without?
