Try with these settings:
LDAP Host: ad-hostname.example.com
port:389
root: dc=example,dc=com
Do not use SSL
URL:ldap://ad-hostname.example.com:389/dc=example,dc=com
Leave default domain empty
Enter username and password
don't check use shared session.
Once this succeeds you will get an inventory in your client
