Hello. I have an issue with a particular VM. If I add second SCSI HDD and initialize it, can not write to it. Error is shown "disk is write protected".

Guest OS Windows 7 Ent SP1

Workstation 8 (after coping VM to other PC with Workstation 9 getting the same problem)

What was done to solve it:

0. Cheeking Permission for the logged in User in Guest OS for attached drive

00. Checking Permission for logged in user in Host OS for the VM folder and particular vmdk file.

1. Rebooting guest os

2. Adding hdd when pc

3. Checking read-only attribute for Disk, Volume and Partition in guest OS

4. Restarting Vmware Workstation

5. Rebooting host pc

6. Reinstalling VMware software

7. Looking through hundreds threads in internet

Nothing helps.

The only one possibilities to add working hdd is to add IDE one in offline mode.

Another VM on the same host does not have this issue at all.

In attached vmware log I see no clue.

Please, help!

Thanks!
