Mid 2013 MacBook Air not booting the BootCamp Partition

Trying to evaluate current VMware Fusion 5.0.3.

I've just purchased a Mid 2013 MacBook Air.

To replace a late 2007 MacBook Pro.

Like on my older MacBook Pro.

I've established a working BootCamp Partition.  This time I've installed  Windows 8 64bit.

I can boot this partition as a straight Bootcamp partition without problems.

However, VMWare Fusion is unable to see this partition to create a Bootcamp based VM.

I've also tried Parallels they also do not seem to be able to see this partition.

Some on the internet believe this problem is related to a change in disk controller that occurred with this version of the MacBook Air.

Questions:

1. Is this a known problem?

2. Is anyone currently successfully running the configuration above?

3. If this is a known problem.  When is it expected that this problem will be resolved?
